Gloucester have nothing Toulouse
Toulouse have to beat Gloucester, who are already out of the competition, at Kingsholm on Friday night to guarantee they finish top of Pool Six and qualify for an incredible 14th Heineken Cup quarterfinal appearance.
The four times champions, who won European rugby’s premier tournament in 1996, 2003, 2005 and 2010, will be under no illusions of the task facing them in the West Country on Friday night.
The two sides had never faced each other before this season, but the Premiership outfit will be looking for revenge after their narrow 21-17 defeat in France in the first game of the pool.
Pool leaders Toulouse know a win will secure their qualification for the knockout stages but they must get at least a draw on English soil as that will mean they will beat rivals Harlequins on the head-to-head ruling if they end on the same points.
The Cherry and Whites cannot qualify for the Heineken Cup knock-out stages, nor the Amlin Challenge Cup quarterfinals, and have nothing to play for but pride in the final game of their European campaign.
