Lowe to return for Leinster's Champions Cup final
INJURY UPDATE: Leinster has been handed a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s Champions Cup Final against La Rochelle in Dublin.
The Irish side, who suffered a shock United Rugby Championship semifinal defeat to Munster, revealed that James Lowe will be available for the Champions Cup Final.
Lowe missed Leinster’s last four games after he sustained a groin injury during the Champions Cup quarterfinal win against Leicester Tigers.
Leinster’s head coach Leo Cullen revealed the news on Monday and stated that Lowe ‘will train as normal this week’.
The coach also confirmed that Cian Healy, Rónan Kelleher and Robbie Henshaw all came through Saturday’s URC semifinal defeat to Munster ‘with no issues’ after returning from recent injuries, while back row Scott Penny has completed his return to play protocols and will be “available for selection this week.”
Unfortunately for Leinster, Will Connors, who was concussed in the opening minutes of the URC semifinal, will enter a return-to-play protocol and will not be available.
Meanwhile, there are no further updates on Vakhtang Abdaladze (neck), Ed Byrne (tricep), Rhys Ruddock (hamstring), Johnny Sexton (groin), Jamie Osborne (knee), Martin Moloney (knee).
