Quins flank Skinner must face the music

Harlequins flank Will Skinner will face a disciplinary hearing in Dublin on Thursday after he was red carded while sitting on the replacements bench last weekend.

Skinner jumped up off his chair to interfere with a ball kicked into touch to prevent Toulouse from taking a quick throw at the line-out.

Referee Alain Rolland saw no alternative other than to give Skinner, who had already been replaced, a red card in the 79th minute for an act contrary to good sportsmanship in contravention of Law 10.4(m).

Pat Barriscale (Ireland) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer to hear this matter.

ERC’s disciplinary officer, Roger O’Connor, has also confirmed that he is investigating a similar incident in the Harlequins Technical Zone from earlier in the match.
