Snyman heads to Cape Town
SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: A 31-man Munster travelling squad is heading to South Africa ahead of the two final United Rugby Championship rounds of the regular season.
The Irish province will come up against Stormers in Cape Town and Sharks in Durban over the next two weekends.
Players and management will arrive in Cape Town on Tuesday with preparations continuing for Saturday’s Round 17 at Cape Town Stadium.
Eighteen forwards and 13 backs are making the trip with Munster’s 23-man matchday squad to be named on Friday.
Keith Earls and Jeremy Loughman have been included in the travelling group after overcoming their respective injuries.
Other big names in the squad include Springbok lock Rudolph Snyman and former All Blacks centre Malakai Fekitoa.
Some of the other Ireland internationals in the squad are Craig Casey, Conor Murray, Joey Carbery, Jean Kleyn and Peter O’Mahony
Following the Champions Cup Round of 16 game against the Sharks, Niall Scannell, Roman Salanoa, John Hodnett, and Paddy Patterson were ruled out and not available to travel.
Hooker Danny Sheahan who was involved for the Ireland Under-19s in France on Saturday and recently enjoyed Six Nations Grand Slam success with the Ireland U20s has been included in the travelling squad.
