Sarries to shed bridesmaid tag
Speaking after Saracens beat Ulster 33-17 on Saturday, Farrell indicated they are determined to finally claim some European silverware.
The current English Premiership champions, who were runners-up in Europe in 2014, completed the double over the 1999 European champions and became the first team to qualify for the Champions Cup quarterfinals.
Their fifth successive victory also ensured they will have home advantage.
"This competition is massive – it's the best of the best," Farrell said.
"We don't pick and choose when to turn up in matches, because we want to win every game.
"However, we have been up there in the Champions Cup in the last few years.
"We've been working hard this season to get off to a kind of start we've had, but now we've got to make sure it stays that way."
Farrell scored 13 points, and made the break that led to a try for Scotland centre Duncan Taylor, to underline his credentials to start for England in the Six Nations next month in front of the on-looking England coach Eddie Jones.
"We always look forward to European matches and, having lost our first game last weekend, we were looking for a reaction," said Farrell.
"We worked hard to get our edge back," he added.
"We had a few harsh words with ourselves after last weekend.
"Ulster took their first chance very well, but we fought back and our set-piece was great."
