Stormers set for double Bok boost
SPOTLIGHT: Stormers assistant coach Dawie Snyman provided some positive news on two of his team’s Springboks ahead of their final Champions Cup pool match against Clermont on Saturday.
Springbok No.8 Evan Roos could be included in the team this week after a lengthy lay-off.
The 22-year-old has been out of action since November after he suffered a rib injury in a Test against England.
Meanwhile, the Stormers’ scrumhalf stocks will be boosted by the return of Springbok scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies.
Jantjies has been out of action since last month with a torn intercostal muscle.
“At this stage, Evan is looking good,” Snyman told reporters on Wednesday.
“He was at home training in the last two weeks. I think he is doing his final fitness test tomorrow [Thursday].
“Herschel should be back, so there are one or two guys ready to go.”
Snyman also provide an update on flyhalf Manie Libbok, who failed a head injury assessment after a high tackle early in his team’s 28-14 win over London Irish in Brentford last weekend.
“He is actually fine. He did his return to play protocols today, so it’s probably just a one-week injury hopefully,” Snyman added.
“After the game he was fine. He passed all his tests so he is actually not too bad.”

Willemse at No.10
With Libbok unavailable, the Stormers will be thinking about their options at No.10 for the weekend.
One of those players in line to start in that position is Springbok star Damian Willemse.
“That is pretty much my role as a utility back. Whenever there is an injury or there is a spot that is open, I need to fulfil that duty and that is basically what I do,” said Willemse.
“If I do have to slot in at No.10 It will just be a different role.
“We will see when the squad gets selected tomorrow [Thursday]] at training and then we will take it from there.”
