VIDEO: Bulls sweating over Bok prop's injury

The Bulls will be sweating over the fitness of seasoned Springbok prop Wilco Louw, ahead of the Champions Cup Round Four encounter with Bordeaux-Bègles this coming Saturday.

Louw injured his shoulder in the first half of the Bulls’ impressive 31-17 win over Bristol Bears at the weekend.

Louw, who played the last of his 14 Tests against Argentina in Port Elizabeth in 2021, left the field on the half-hour mark.

The Bulls’ Director of Rugby Jake White confirmed that it was an acromioclavicular (shoulder) injury.

“We will have to have a look and see how he pulls up this week,” White told @rugby365com, when asked about the 29-year-old front row forward’s injury.

“I am not sure what the exact extent of his injury is,” he added.

“When we get back home we will do some scans.”

White said Louw’s replacement, Khutha Mchunu, played well – given that he only joined the team this season and hasn’t had an extended run with the team.

They also have Mornay Smith and Jacques van Rooyen who can play at tighthead.
