Pollard, who has been sidelined for almost seven months,  will don the No.22 jersey during the semifinal clash against Bath.

Joining the 27-year-old on the bench are fellow Springboks Bismarck Du Plessis and Cobus Reinach.

Pollard last played for the Springboks in the 2019 World Cup Final, has been out since September with a serious knee injury after making just two appearances this season.

Pollard ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for Montpellier in a French Top 14 clash against Racing 92.

The flyhalf’s return is a boost for Springboks ahead of the British & Irish Lions series.

Fellow Springbok star Pieter-Steph du Toit is also back in action this weekend, while RG Snyman is soon set to return from a knee injury.

The Lions start their tour of South Africa in July before three Test matches finishing on August 7.
