Hirabayashi for play-off
The IRB has appointed referees and touch judges to the final round of matches at the IRB's Under-21 World Championship. The plums have gone to Chris Pollock of New Zealand and Taizo Hirabayashi of Japan,.
Pollock got into the Super 14 for the first time this year. On Wednesday he refereed the semi-final between France and Australia.
The interesting appointment is that of Taizo Hirabayashi of Japan to the third-place play-off. Hirabayashi who speaks English well had international experiences and is Japan's first full-time professional referee.
