Ackermann stars as Gloucester see off London Irish
PREMIERSHIP REPORT: Gloucester swept into second place in the English Premiership with a 24-7 victory against London Irish at Kingsholm on Friday.
London Irish paid the price for failing to take advantage of early pressure as they allowed Gloucester to get a foothold and take four points.
Ruan Ackermann scored two of Gloucester’s three tries, with Ollie Thorley grabbing the other.
Lloyd Evans converted two with Adam Hastings adding a penalty and a conversion.
Olly Cracknell scored London Irish’s try which Paddy Jackson converted.
Irish have now won only twice in 23 visits to Gloucester in the Premiership era.
