According to The Rugby Paper, Harlequins have agreed to Esterhuizen’s enormous wage demands – around £340 000 [ZAR6.4 million] a year – to bring him to England for the start of the next European season.

The 25-year-old has been with South Africa’s Sharks since 2013, cementing his place in the Durban side’s midfield over the last couple of seasons.
