TRANSFER NEWS: Springbok centre Andre Esterhuizen will reportedly head to England after this year’s Super Rugby tournament.

According to The Rugby Paper, Harlequins have agreed to Esterhuizen’s enormous wage demands – around £340 000 [ZAR6.4 million] a year – to bring him to England for the start of the next European season.

The 25-year-old has been with South Africa’s Sharks since 2013, cementing his place in the Durban side’s midfield over the last couple of seasons.

He has eight Test caps for the Springboks, but he was not included in Rassie Erasmus’ World Cup squad in 2019.

Esterhuizen has also appeared for Munakata Sanix Blues in Japan’s Top League.

He was previously linked with a move to France and Harlequin’s Premiership rivals Sale Sharks.
