Bok commits to Wasps
Springbok back row star Ashley Johnson handed Wasps a major boost on Thursday when he signed a contract extension to commit his future to the club.
Johnson has been one of the stars of the season in Wasps colours since joining the club last year and has made 25 appearances to date, having quickly become a fan favourite amongst the Adams Park faithful.
On signing his contract extension Johnson said: “My first season has been hugely enjoyable and I have learned so much over the past year from the players and coaches at Wasps.
“When Dai talked to me about signing an extension I didn’t need to think twice. I am part of a squad that is really building for the future and I am really happy to be part of what we are doing here.”
London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “Ashley has been one of the standout players in the side this year and we are delighted to have extended his contract with the club. He has taken our style of rugby in his stride and has become a real leader in the squad.
“With a number of young guys around him Ashley has been a hugely positive influence, leading by example on and off the pitch and we are all looking forward to seeing what he can do over the next few seasons.”
