Critical bans for Bai and Kvesic
Leicester Tigers and Gloucester were dealt crippling blows with the news that Seremaia Bai and Matt Kvesic have been handed three-week bans.
The Tigers back, Bai, was suspended for three weeks after, he was sent off against Wasps on Saturday.
The Fijian pleaded guilty to charging into a ruck or maul, and will miss Leicester's crucial clash with Northampton this weekend as they look to secure a play-off place.
He will also miss any play-off matches should they advance.
The Rugby Football Union said in a statement that the disciplinary panel – consisting of Sean Enright (chairman), Daniel White and Steve Miles – deemed the offence to be of mid-range entry point for sanction and banned Bai from May 10 to May 31.
He is free to play again on June 1.
The Premiership semifinals are on the weekend of May 23 and the Final a week later.
The Gloucester flank, Kvesic, will miss his side's upcoming European Champions Cup play-off – after also being suspended for three weeks following his red card against London Irish at the weekend.
Kvesic pleaded guilty to a tip tackle and has been banned until May 31, meaning he will be ruled out of the tie against the eighth-placed Pro12 side.
The panel deemed his offence to be of low-range entry point for sanction and banned Kvesic from May 10 to May 31.
He is free to play again on June 1.
