Harlequins outclass Gloucester
MATCH REPORT: Alex Dombrandt’s second-half try and the boot of Marcus Smith handed Harlequins a 23-19 win in a topsy-turvy encounter against Gloucester Rugby.
Quins were outscored by three tries to two on Sunday at the Stoop but held on for only their second league win of the season.
Ollie Thorley crossed for a first-half double for the Cherry & Whites who have now slipped to a fifth defeat in a row in all competitions.
Ross Chisholm’s first-half score and the boot of Smith had Quins back in front early in the second period, until Ben Morgan’s try re-gave Gloucester the lead.
Man of the match Dombrandt then wriggled over just after the hour mark to put Quins back in front.
Billy Twelvetrees missed a late penalty in the wind in south west London that would have given Gloucester the win and Smith showed him how to do it with a final penalty to seal the victory.
