Commenting on his new position, Kurdi express his happiness.

"We’re underway with the process of identifying a new, independent Chairman and I’m very happy to assist the Board during the intervening period through the start of the 2016-17 season," said Kurdi.

"A month ago, we concluded another very successful season for Premiership Rugby culminating in an outstanding Premiership Final between Saracens and Exeter Chiefs which saw Saracens add the domestic title to their European Rugby Champions Cup success.

"That is now being enhanced by England’s results in Australia and English rugby is back on a strong, upward path. It’s an excellent time for us to continue to strengthen that further over the next few seasons," he added.
