Leicester coach cited for 'alleged' ref abuse
DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Leicester Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy will appear before an Independent Disciplinary Panel after he allegedly verbally abused match officials.
The incident occurred during the Premiership match between Leicester Tigers and Bath Rugby at Welford Road last weekend.
The coach has been charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and the Game contrary to RFU Rule 5.12 and will now face two charges.
The first charge relates to verbal abuse of a match official and in the alternative for failure to respect the authority of a match official, contrary to Law 9.28.
The second charge is for failure to respect the authority of match officials, contrary to Law 9.28.
The hearing will take place in London and by chaired by Jeremy Summers, the sole judicial officer.
