Robshaw leads Quins into play-offs

England captain Chris Robshaw got on the scoresheet as Harlequins wrapped up their place in the Premiership semifinals with a 33-17 win over Wasps on Saturday.

Quins’ convincing bonus-point win over their local rivals left Wasps fighting for their Premiership survival, just four points above bottom-club Newcastle who scored a shock win over Gloucester.

Robshaw, Ugo Monye, George Robson and Jordan Turner-Hall all scored tries for Quins with Rory Clegg adding 13 points with the boot at the Stoop.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Leicester flyhalf Toby Flood reminded England coach Stuart Lancaster of his playmaking talent with a superb 25-point haul in the Tigers’ 35-21 win at Northampton.

Flood crossed for two of Leicester’s four tries while adding three conversions and three penalties as the Tigers cut loose against their midlands rivals.

The shock of the day belonged to bottom club Newcastle, however, who pulled off an unlikely 29-20 win over Gloucester at Kingsholm.

It was the Falcons first away win for more than 13 months and gave Newcastle renewed hope of avoiding relegation.

Ally Hogg and Mark Wilson were the try-scorers while captain Jimmy Gopperth kicked 19 points.

Exeter meanwhile produced a barnstorming finish at Worcester in a 31-26 win. The Chiefs trailed 26-19 with two minutes remaining before late tries from Phil Dollman and Sireli Naqelevuki grabbed the points.
