SA prodigy joins London Irish

London Irish have snapped up exciting ex-Rondebosch Boys' High School tighthead prop Richard Palframan from the Sharks.

18-year-old Palframan already has the physical attributes to compete with the best in his position. The 6"1' and 118kg tighthead has made five appearances for the Sharks’ under-19s in their opening five matches this season.

He is an exceptional ball carrier who continuously breaks the gain line and has a solid scrummaging and line-out game. London Irish Director of Rugby, Brian Smith said: “He is an outstanding prospect. He is a very physical player and exceptionally good with ball in hand. He will work with Glenn Delaney to enhance his all-round game and continue his progression. We believe we have real gem on our hands.”

Palframan said: "I am very grateful to the Sharks for the opportunities they have given me, but the chance to join London Irish was too good to deny."
