Tigers' England star in hot water

DISCIPLINARY UPDATE: Leicester Tigers and England hooker Tom Youngs is due to appear before a disciplinary panel.

Youngs was shown a red card by referee Tom Foley in the 56th minute of Leicester Tigers’ 20-52 loss to Exeter Chiefs last Saturday.

This was for making contact with Chiefs lock Ollie Atkins’ head in a ruck – contrary to Law 9.20(a): dangerous play in a ruck or maul.

The hearing will take place in London on Wednesday, April 10.

The panel will be chaired by Philip Evans, with Richard Whittam and Chris Skaife.
