Two Premiership stars in hot water
DISCIPLINARY UPDATE: Two players have been cited by the Rugby Football Union, followed this weekend’s Premiership action.
Leicester Tigers centre Kyle Eastmond and Worcester Warriors fullback Chris Pennell will both appear before a disciplinary panel this week.
Eastmond has been charged for a dangerous tackle, contrary to Law 9.13.
The incident occurred in the match between Bristol Bears and Leicester Tigers on December 1, when the Tigers’ centre tackled Bristol’s Ian Madigan in the 25th minute of the match.
Pennell has been charged with tackling Charlie Sharples of Gloucester, whose feet were off the ground causing him to land in a dangerous position, contrary to Law 9.17.
The incident occurred in the 57th minute of the match between Gloucester and Worcester Warriors on Saturday, December 1.
Both players will appear before a three-person independent discipline panel chaired by John Brennan in Coventry on Tuesday 4 December.
