Worcester’s Heem appeals tip-tackle ban

DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Worcester Warriors Bryce Heem is set to appeal his four week suspension.

The New Zealander was handed a four-week suspesnion for or a tip tackle on Sale Sharks’ Paolo Odogwu contrary to Law 9.18 .

The 30-year-old was sin-bined in the second half of the Warriors’ 39-17 againt Sale Sharks.

The wing’s appeal will be heard by a new independent disciplinary panel – comprising Gareth Graham (chair), His Honour Judge Martin Picton and John Doubleday – in Bristol on Tuesday.

Heem, who is set to join Top 14 club Toulon, contested the charge against him at his previous hearing, but was given the suspension by an independent panel of Matthew Weaver (chair), Mitchell Read and Guy Lovgreen.

Meanwhile, Sale centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg has been banned for a week for striking scrumhalf Francois Hougaard.
