Bad break for Edinburgh prop

Edinburgh prop Robin Hislop will be unavailable for selection for the next four to six months after the 21-year-old broke his leg in training.

The former Langholm loosehead fractured his fibula at Murrayfield last week however, despite the severity of the injury, will not require surgery.

Hislop will continue his rehabilitation under the care of the club’s medical team and specialists at Spire Murrayfield Hospital.

Edinburgh lead physiotherapist, Stuart Paterson, said: “While Robin does not require surgery, the fracture will need considerable time to heal.

“In as much as an individual’s legs and indeed their breaks are unique, Robin will have a tailored recovery programme to suit his specific needs in order to allow him to return to playing at the highest level at the appropriate time.”
