The Port Elizabeth team have signed Springbok wing Bjorn Basson and Bulls centre Ulrich Beyers ahead of the new season.

“We all know Bjorn is a fine player and Ulrich is big and bustling. We are very happy to have signed them,” Kings Chief Operating Officer Charl Crous told the Herald.

Basson has 11 Test caps for the Springboks. He previously played for Bulls, Cheetahs, Stormers, Griquas and Oyonnax, who joined as a medical joker last December.

The other confirmed new signings for the Cheetahs are locks JC Astle and Schalk Oelofse, and scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius.

The Southern Kings open their 2018/2019 Pro14 season in Italy where they will face Zebre on August 31.
