Evans' on song for Glasgow
Two tries from Scottish wing Thom Evans, the second just four minutes from full time, helped the Warriors get back to winning ways on Friday night with a 34-20 win over Connacht in the Magners League.
The home side suffered two poor defeats in Europe over the last fortnight but picked up all five points on Friday night at Firhill, providing a much needed confidence boost for Sean Lineen’s camp.
Thom Evans’ brother Max started the scoring after just two minutes. The international centre went over for Glasgow and, along with Parks’ conversion, handed his side an early lead.
Ian Keatley responded with a penalty after 11 minutes but tries from Beattie and Thom Evans helped the home side to a commanding 24-12 lead at half time.
Connacht’s No.10 and Parks exchanged penalties early in the second period before, after 73 minutes, a late Fionn Carr try caused some concern on the Warriors bench.
The concerns were unfounded though as Evans grabbed the late bonus-point try for his team and secured a comfortable win.
