Evans out for eight weeks

Johannesburg-born Wales lock Ian Evans has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks due to an ongoing knee injury.

The 28-year-old Ospreys second row forward had been hampered by an injury sustained in Wales’ 26-19 defeat to Samoa last month and has ultimately undergone keyhole surgery.

"Ian has been troubled by an ongoing problem with his right knee since being unable to complete the Samoa game last month,” Ospreys head physio Chris Towers said.

"Investigations and consultations with specialists have resulted in him undergoing a keyhole procedure, as a result of which he will be sidelines for six to eight weeks."
