Evans signs for Scarlets
Scarlets Coach Wayne Pivac said he is pleased with the signing of Australian-born loosehead prop Dylan Evans.
26-year-old Evans, Welsh qualified through his father, will join the Welsh Region next season.
The 117kg prop, who has trialed with ACT Brumbies and Crusaders and spent a season with Melbourne Rebels, has juggled his rugby dream with studying construction management at Newcastle University and full-time work respectively.
Scarlets Head Coach Wayne Pivac said: "We are pleased to confirm the signing of Dylan Evans as we look to strengthen our depth in the front row. "
"With Rob Evans' inclusion in the Welsh squad this year, and possible selection in the World Cup squad, it gives us much-needed cover at loosehead to complement our existing contingent.
"Dylan has been in-and-around Super Rugby level squads which will ensure he brings an exciting and experienced dimension to our front row.
"He's a good guy and has spent some time with us here at Scarlets whilst he was back visiting family.
"He's Welsh qualified and fits the profile of player we're looking for on and off the field."
Speaking about the move to West Wales to join the Scarlets Evans said: "I have been to Wales quite a lot. I love the place. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to join a great club like the Scarlets and spend some time with family over there."
