Italy star in hot water

DISCIPLINARY NEWS: A Disciplinary Committee will meet on Wednesday in Edinburgh to consider the citing complaint made against Italy and Benetton star Tommaso Benvenuti for an incident against Munster last weekend

The complaint refers to an incident involving Munster prop Stephen Archer in the 52nd minute of the Pro14 Round 20 fixture at Stadio Monigo, Treviso.

The player has been reported by the Citing Commissioner in charge for infringement of 9.20 – A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders.

The player was shown a yellow card at the time by referee Ben Whitehouse.

The player will face a Disciplinary Committee via video conference, the Committee will comprise of Rory Bannerman (Chair), Frank Hadden and Jennifer Rae (All Scotland).
