Munster rely on Saffa muscle
SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: There will be an air of excitement at Nelson Mandela Stadium this week, at as a couple of African-born players return to their homeland.
Former Kings flank Chris Cloete, who appeared in 23 games and scored 30 points for the franchise in 2016/17 before taking his talents to Ireland, will look to make a winning impact on the field against his former when he runs out got Irish province Munster.
Munster faces the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday and the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Friday, October 11.
The Kings have not won a game in their last six contests.
Since joining Munster, Cloete, who was born in East London has appeared in 29 games – scoring 20 points for Munster.
The second South African in their squad is former Bulls forward Arno Botha, who spent the majority of his career in Pretoria – where he made 81 appearances with the Bulls.
Botha joined Munster in 2018, where he has appeared in 28 games – scoring 15 points.
Also included in the squad is newcomer Jed Holloway, who was issued with his work permit during the week, and academy players Diarmuid Barron and Keynan Knox.
