Owens to miss Bok Tests?
Scarlets and Wales hooker Ken Owens has undergone a scan to determined the severity of a neck injury he suffered during training.
Owens missed the Scarlets' Pro12 win over Italian outfit Treviso last week and has undergone assessment by both his side's medical team and external specialists.
"We have undergone a thorough process of consultation with specialists over the last few days in regards to Ken's injury, and will decide on the best course of action in the coming days." Scarlets Head of Performance Andrew Walker said in a statement.
Owens, 27, has started Wales's last three Tests, including both tour games against South Africa in June and will, if fit, likely be included in the squad for next year's World Cup.
He made his Wales debut during the 2011 World Cup and has gone on to win 26 caps, vying for the hooking position with Richard Hibbard.
Wales begin their end-of-year Test schedule against Australia at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on November 8, before playing Fiji, New Zealand and the Springboks on successive weekends.
Scrumhalf Gareth Davies, who scored two tries against Benetton Treviso last Saturday, is undergoing the return to play concussion protocol and is ruled out of Friday's clash against Edinburgh.
Centre Regan King remains sidelined with a hamstring injury and is likely to be unavailable for selection for another few weeks.
Tighthead prop Jacobie Adriaanse also remains sidelined because of a knee injury he obtained during the pre-season friendly against Bath Rugby.
He is now out of the knee brace and will progress to running rehabilitation over the next two weeks.
Wing Frazier Climo suffered an ankle injury last weekend whilst in action for Llanelli against Cardiff at Cardiff Arms Park, whilst fellow wing Kyle Evans fractured his hand with Wales Sevens at the weekend and is likely to be unavailable for selection for up to eight weeks.
South African lock George Earle makes a return to action this weekend, in the Principality Premiership for Llandovery RFC, after ankle surgery during the off-season.
