Pivac content with Scarlets' victory

Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac said there is room for improvement, despite his team's 28-26 Pro12 victory over Zebre at the weekend.

The win saw the Welsh outfit move into sixth place on the standings – level with Connacht on 44 points.

The victory in Parma was also the region's first away win of the season and the West Wales outfit will be looking to build momentum heading into the final three rounds of the Pro12.

"On the positive side we came with a victory and four points," Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac said.

"We've also come away with no injuries, which hasn't happened in a long while.

"To jump up into equal sixth makes it a pretty good weekend all round really," Pivac added.

It was a tough match for the Scarlets – with Zebre leading 26-25 in the final minute of the game. An 82nd-minute penalty from Rhys Priestland saw the Scarlets steal the victory and secure four points in the race to ensuring a top six spot.

Pivac went on to say: "There are parts of the game we will have to work on over the coming weeks. We kept them in the game through our mistakes which was frustrating.

"There were positives in the game, when we were under pressure we kept our composure and scored some very good tries."

Scarlets will take on Newport Gwent Dragons at the Millennium Stadium in the third instalment of Judgement Day on Saturday, April 25 and Pivac believes the Newport-based Region will be a tough opponent.

"They're on a great run of form at the moment – they'll be a really tough opponent and we have nothing but respect for them as a side. It's safe to say that it's another must win game for us!

"We've got two weeks of hard work ahead of us. All in all we got the win and the result that we needed."
