Scotland wing heading home

Scotland wing Nikki Walker will leave Premiership side Worcester at the end of the season after agreeing a deal to join Edinburgh.

Walker, who only moved to Worcester from Ospreys last year, has been granted an early release from his contract to allow him to take the opportunity to head back home to Scotland.

"I have enjoyed my time in Worcester, but an opportunity has arisen for my family and I to return home to Scotland," Walker said.

"This opportunity was too big for us to turn down."

The 31-year-old has made 13 appearances for Worcester and scored four tries, but Worcester head coach Richard Hill acknowledged that the move should improve Walker's hopes of cementing a key place in the Scotland team.

"Nikki retains strong international aspirations and has been a part of the Scotland set-up during the recent Six Nations campaign," Hill said.

"His move to Edinburgh should help his ambitions to play for his country once again, and he will leave us at the end of the season with our best wishes."
