Season-ending blow for Scott
Following an injury to his left shoulder, sustained during the final game of the 6 Nations, Edinburgh centre Matt Scott underwent surgery last week.
The news comes as a blow not only for Edinburgh but also for Scotland. With Alex Dunbar a doubt for the World Cup after a knee injury, Scott also now faces a race against time.
Edinburgh hoped that Scott would be able to manage his injury conservatively, however following consultations with shoulder specialists the decision to perform an investigative arthroscopy was taken.
This resulted in him requiring a further surgical procedure to help deal with his shoulder complaints.
Scott will now continue with his rehabilitation programme with the Edinburgh medical team and will be unavailable to play for Edinburgh for the rest of the season.
