Welsh hooker signs for Lyon
Wales hooker Huw Bennett has signed for two years with relegated Top 14 side Lyon, the French club confirmed on Thursday.
The 29-year-old, who won 51 caps for Wales and was first-choice Wales hooker at the World Cup, will join up with recently recruited back row forward Sebastien Chabal and lock Lionel Nallet, who both arrive from Racing Metro, and scrumhalf Fabien Cibrai and centre Julien Dumora who signed from Toulon.
Lyon are bidding for an immediate return to the top flight next season.
Bennett leaves his Pro12 side Ospreys in favour of a move to France, joining a growing number of Welsh players seeking employment abroad.
In addition ot Bennett, the Welsh players who will be playing overseas next season include Paul James (Bath), James Hook (Perpignan), Mike Phillips (Bayonne), Lee Byrne (Clermont), Luke Charteris (Perpignan), Gethin Jenkins (Toulon), Aled Brew (Biarritz), Rhys Gill (Saracens), Craig Mitchell (Exeter Chiefs) and Andy Powell (Sale Sharks).
