All Black captain: 'No two Test matches are the same'

SPOTLIGHT: All Black captain Scott Barrett is expecting the Springboks to give the ball some more air in Saturday’s Rugby Championship Round Four clash at Cape Town Stadium.

The Boks have made several changes for the clash with the most notable being the inclusion of Handre Pollard and Wille le Roux at flyhalf and fullback this week.

With heavier conditions expected at Cape Town Stadium, tactical kicking could be a huge factor on Saturday and Barrett and his team have prepared for that.

“No two Test matches are the same,” said Barrett during the captain’s run at Athlone Stadium.

“The South Africans would’ve adapted their strategy for Saturday, so we got to be ready for that.”

He added: “They [Pollard and Le Roux] offer a great kicking game.

“It might be a kicking battle, so our back three are ready for that.”

The All Blacks have also been working hard at line-out time, especially with Eben Etzebeth starting for the Boks this week.

“Eben is one of their main go-to men,” said Barrett.

“We’ve got to pressure them, especially their hookers and we have done some work on that.

“Hopefully, we can get some results.”

For the All Blacks, they just want to right the wrongs after last weekend’s 27-31 defeat at Ellis Park.

“After last week there is plenty of hurt and we want to turn that result around, that is for sure,” he added.
