BlitzBokke bag Glasgow title

South Africa won their third Cup Final of the IRB Sevens World Series, beating New Zealand 28-21 in the Final of the Glasgow Sevens on Sunday.

Paul Treu's side recorded a third Cup Final victory over New Zealand, who had earlier claimed an 11th World Series title by reaching the Cup semifinals.

Having lost to the eventual champions South Africa in the semifinals, next week's hosts England finished third after beating Wales while USA, Australia and France all lifted silverware at Scotstoun Stadium.

Seabelo Senatla scored two tries for Paul Treu's side in the semifinal, continuing his recent fine form, while Gillies Kaka scored twice for Gordon Tietjens' side in their victory against Wales.

Earlier, New Zealand beat Argentina to progress to the semifinals and in doing so claimed their 11th World Series title by gaining enough Series points to ensure they have an unassailable lead in the standings.

USA, who won the Plate in Tokyo, beat Argentina to lift the Plate title in Scotland with Nick Edwards scoring his eighth try of the tournament in the win. Earlier they beat Fiji 22-7, while Los Pumas beat Canada by the same score.

Michael O'Connor's Australia beat Kenya 12-5 to lift the Bowl title in Scotland with Lewis Holland and Pama Fou giving them the victory and ensuring they maintained a 100% record on Day Two in Glasgow.

In the semis, Cameron Clark scored his 10th World Series try as Australia snatched a 17-12 victory against Samoa and Nick Malouf scored twice in their 36-0 win against Portugal in the quarterfinals.

Mike Friday's Kenya defeated France 22-7 to reach the Bowl semifinals with Oscar Ouma crossing twice and proved too strong for hosts Scotland in the semifinals with Felix Ayange scoring two tries in the 24-19 win.

France proved too strong for Russia as they beat the Rugby World Cup Sevens hosts 21-12 in the Shield Final.

Russia defeated Portugal to book their place in the Shield Final with Igor Galinovskiy scoring two of their seven tries while a hat-trick from Paul Albaladejo helped them beat Spain.
