Captain Curry steps in for Forbes

Scott Curry will captain the All Blacks Sevens side in next weekend's tournament in Las Vegas.

Regular skipper DJ Forbes will remain home after sustaining a foot injury in the Wellington tournament.

Veteran Lote Raikabula has been brought into the squad as a replacement.

The stand in captain has directed his first piece of leadership advice at youngster Rieko Ioane, who was sensational in last weekend's Wellington tournament.

Ioane grabbed much of the attention in New Zealand's successful Wellington campaign, scoring six tries.

Curry says he wants him to keep up his inquisitive nature.

"Talked a lot throughout the week," Curry said.

"There's asking plenty of questions and we had his older brother Akira in there last year, so I think he's talked to Akira quite a lot and he's learnt a lot from him as well."

The All Blacks Sevens are on route to Las Vegas for the latest stop off on the World Series.
