George reunion for Sevens stars

Football giants Kaizer Chiefs have assembled an experienced Sevens team to compete in the inaugural Premier League tournament in George in December.

The tournament will include teams from the South African Super Rugby franchises as well as six corporate sides which will all be competing for the R1 million prizemoney.

The Chiefs team will be captained by Breyton Paulse and coached by Gcobani Bobo – two of just a handful of players to have represented South Africa at both fiteens and Sevens.

Paulse will lead a team of former Sevens stars including Brent Russell, Fabian Juries, Stefan Basson and Mzwandile Stick against what is expected to be some stiff competition.

Coach Bobo believes that his team's experience will help give them an edge in George.

"It will be a massive honour and privilege to coach the team. Breyton has vast experience as a player and to tap into that knowledge will be a massive boost to the rest of the team," said Bobo.

With international stars such as Shane Williams, Ben Gollings and Zar Lawrence expected to be involved, along with current Super Rugby stars the competition is expected to be fierce.
