Senatla to teach the Springbok way

Sevens Springbok Seabelo Senatla is looking to take the lessons he learnt with the Springboks on their year-end tour and implement them with the BlitzBokke as they prepare for the World Series event in Dubai.

Senatla, who made his debut for that BlitzBokke in Wellington, quickly shot to prominence on the Sevens circuit with his blistering pace and ball skills.

The Western Province speedster, who cannot be pigeon-holed as a pure Sevens specialist, also played an important role in the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship in France Under-20 where he helped his country to third-place.

Senatla was then contracted to play for the Stormers and Western Province where he shone in WP's successful Currie Cup campaign – eventually earning him a call up to the Springbok squad for their November Internationals.

Although he did not get any game-time on tour, the flyer says he has learnt plenty about the successful structures in the Boks and hopes to transfer it across to the Sevens team.

"I think I have learnt a whole lot in the Springbok set up," Senatla said in preparation for the Dubai leg.

"It is good to be back with the boys [the BlitzBokke] and I will be happy to implement whatever I have learnt that side [with the Springboks] just to make the setup here better.

"As a person I am very happy to have experienced that type of exposure and have learnt their systems as well.

The Springboks are at a higher level than what we are now.

"It is very good for me to have spent some time that side as well, it will benefit me greatly.

The BlitzBokke, currently fourth in the World Series standings after the Gold Coast leg in Australia, are obviously looking for Gold in Dubai – but they are also looking to get their processes right.

"As a team we are obviously always looking to take Gold, but that is not our total focus," Senatla continued.

"We are always focusing on the processes and the smaller stuff because that can lead us to taking the bigger things as well.

"So for us it is all about focusing on those processes and that will lead to us snatching tournament after tournament.

The BlitzBokke kick off the second leg of the Series against Portugal in the first match of the tournament, they then face Canada and Wales to complete the first day.
