Hogg a flyhalf bolter for Scots?

The 24-year-old operated at flyhalf for the first time in a Warriors shirt during their 35-28 Pro12 victory against Benetton Treviso, delivering an impressive New Year's Eve performance in the process.

Hogg impressed Warriors coach Gregor Townsend, who will take over as Scotland boss at the end of the season, with his display, and Townsend believes these experiences can help Hogg thrive.

"Stuart was great," Townsend told rbs6nations.com. "Especially his goal kicking, a 100 percent record in his first game as our first-choice goal kicker is fantastic.

"His intercept try was excellent, to go the length of the field when an international wing is chasing you shows just how quick he is.

"It will be a game for him to grow as a rugby player. He will have more understanding of the depth you need at first receiver, the decisions you have to make and the time you have on the ball."

Scotland begin their 2017 Six Nations campaign with a tough match against Ireland at Murrayfield on February 4
