Scots fear no one
Dougie Fife has issued an early battle cry ahead of Scotland's Six Nations clash against Wales, insisting his side fear no-one.
The Edinburgh wing was a try-scoring replacement for the injured Tommy Seymour after just 18 minutes of Saturday's opening 15-8 defeat to France.
Redemption is the order of the day when Warren Gatland's side visit Murrayfield on Sunday, and Fife insists there was nothing in the Welsh capitulation to England in the opening round to have concerned his team-mates.
"We don't fear any team," he said.
"We have the ability to beat anyone in this competition.
"We watched the Wales-England game on Friday. It looked very physical and the breakdown was more competitive than it has been in the last few Six Nations, so that will be a big part of the match next week when we play Wales.
"They will be disappointed and will be looking for a backlash – but so will we."
Despite showing a lot of promise, especially in a youthful backline, Vern Cotter's team were ultimately beaten by five kicks from French flyhalf Camille Lopez.
Seymour is still undergoing medical assessment, but Fife is hoping that he has done enough to claim a starting shirt regardless of the fitness of his team-mate.
"We've got a talented squad with a lot of good wingers, but fingers crossed I've done enough to keep hold of the jersey," he said.
"That try has got to be up there as the most important I've ever scored – scoring at the Stade de France is the type of thing you dream about.
"We definitely had the belief that we could come to Paris and win. We played well over there and it was close, but it will now be a big game at Murrayfield and we just have to make sure we get back on track."
