"We are excited about the prospects at Moses Mabhida Stadium, but have made it clear that any move would have to be in the best interests of the Sharks and their supporters.

"Before the Sharks board makes a final decision, we will conduct detailed consultations with important stakeholders like our sponsors, suite holders and season ticket holders.

"This process will continue over the next few weeks.

"The city has given its full support to this position, and is looking forward to working with the Sharks in the future.

"We have been inspired by the eThekwini leadership's commitment and professionalism, and are excited about the opportunities."
