Du Plessis was able to avoid undergoing surgery on his shoulder recently, which he dislocated against the Crusaders in Christchurch on April 22.

In other injury news, Scotland centre Huw Jones is back training with Robbie Fleck's squad and he could be fit for selection for the Stormers' clash with the Sunwolves on July 8 after suffering a hamstring injury earlier this year.

Prop Oliver Kebble is another player who could be available for the clash against the Japanese outfit while  Alistair Vermaak has got a calf strain and he will be assessed this week.

Hooker Siyabonga Ntubeni is back at training but is not available for selection yet. Centre Damian de Allende is another player still unavailable.

The good news for the Stormers is that centre Dan Kriel and loose forward Rynhardt Elstadt, who recovered from a fractured rib, are both fit and available for this weekend's clash against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

The Stormers also have no injury concerns amongst their returning Springboks after the three-Test series against France.
