Another key Bok out of June series

The Bulls' 39-33 win against the Sharks in Super Rugby's Round 13 at the weekend came at a cost – as Lizo Gqoboka and Lodewyk de Jager suffered long term injuries.

De Jager left the field with a pectoral injury and his scans confirmed that he tore a muscle in his chest wall.

He will be on the sidelines for four months.

Gqoboka injured his toe and scans have revealed that he has torn a tendon that requires surgery.

He is expected to be out for four to six months.

The rest of the squad seemed to be in good nick, with all the players taking part in training ahead of the team's departure for Argentina – to face the Jaguares this coming weekend.

The Bok coach, Erasmus, has already suffered a couple of body blows ahead of the Tests against Wales (In Washington, United States – on June 2) and England (Johannesburg, June 9; Bloemfontein, June 16 and Cape Town, June 23).

Star hooker Malcolm Marx suffered a hamstring injury while on tour with the Lions in Australasia and won't feature in the June Tests.

Flyhalf Patrick injured his ACL ligament, while playing for his French club Racing 92 in their 12-15 loss to Leinster in the European Champions Cup Final at the weekend.

Lambie said he will be sidelined for at least a month, perhaps more.
