Another Kiwi signs for Force

Former Hurricanes scrumhalf Chris Eaton has joined the Western Force on a short-term contract for the 2013 Super Rugby season.

The 28-year-old comes into the squad as cover for Wallaby scrumhalf Brett Sheehan, who is on the comeback trail from an ankle injury suffered in Australia’s 22-19 Test win over Italy in Florence in November. Sheehan is expected to be available for selection next month.

Eaton joins fellow Kiwi Alby Mathewson and Mick Snowden, who made his Super Rugby debut against the Kings on Saturday night, as the current scrumhalf options for the club.

Eaton, who has begun training in Perth, played 27 Super Rugby matches across two seasons for the Hurricanes in 2011 and 2012.

His contract with the Force will extend until Sheehan is available to resume his place in the playing squad.
