Another off-field yellow

Rob Horne of the Waratahs has been issued with an off-field yellow card for a dangerous shoulder charge against the Cheetahs at the weekend.

Hone was found guilty for contravening Law 10.4 (e): Dangerous Tackling.

The incident occurred in the second minute of the Cheetahs 35-34 win over the Waratahs in Bloemfontein at the weekend.

Horne tackled Cheetahs player Robert Ebersohn, leading with his shoulder and without the use of arms, after Ebersohn had passed the ball.

An off-field yellow card may be issued by the SANZAR Citing Commissioner for foul play incidents that are very close to, but in his opinion do not meet the red card threshold for Citings.

In this case the Match Officials did not act on the incident and on further review of the match footage the citing commissioner deemed an off-field yellow card was appropriate.
