Bok prop in talks with Lions

NEWS: The Lions are in the process of bolstering their front-row stocks ahead of the 2020 Super Rugby season.

The Lions Rugby Company on Monday confirmed that they are in talks with Springbok prop Jannie du Plessis.

According to a report, Du Plessis s waiting for clearance from his French club Montpellier.

The 37-year-old featured in Montpellier’s 20-23 defeat to Connacht in the European Champions Cup on Sunday.

Du Plessis, who has 70 Test caps for the Springboks, has been in France with the French giants since 2015.

Meanwhile, the report revealed that Lions are also in talks with Stormers prop Carlü Sadie about a permanent move to Johannesburg.

The 22-year-old was loaned to the Lions for the 2019 Super Rugby season. He then returned to Cape Town to play for Western Province in this year’s Currie Cup.
