Du Toit had a procedure on Sunday after he suffered a haematoma to his left thigh during the Stormers’ 14-33 defeat to the Blues at Newlands on Saturday.

The loose forward left the field during the second half of his team’s first loss of the 2020 Super Rugby season.

According to Netwerk24, the World Player of the Year had to have a second operation on Monday to drain blood from his upper leg which was caused by the haematoma.

Du Toit is set to be out of action for two months.

The flank’s injury is not only a big blow for Stormers, who have had a tremendous season but also the Springboks who already have Siya Kolisi and Bongi Mbonambi on the injury list.

The Stormers have a bye in Round Six of Super Rugby before they travel to Durban to face the Sharks.
