Broken down Carr

Stormers coach Allister Coetzee has confirmed that impressive No.8 Nizaam Carr has been ruled out for the balance of the season, with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Carr was replaced after being injured early in the match against the Cheetahs by new Canadian recruit Jebb Sinclair, who is now likely to start in the next match.

The Stormers have had awful luck with their loose forwards this season, with Schalk Burger, Duane Vermeulen and Nick Koster all already sidelined with knee injuries.

Burger, Vermeulen and Koster will only be available again after the June break, leaving Coetzee to search for cover in the Vodacom Cup side.

Nick Fenton-Wells and Don Armand are the leading candidates to offer back up to Sinclair, Rynhardt Elstadt and Siya Kolisi for the clash with the Waratahs at Newlands on Saturday.
