Bulls Bok to miss Chiefs clash

The high-flying Bulls will be without Springbok lock Flip van der Merwe when they host the Chiefs in a Super Rugby Round Seven match on Saturday.

Van der Merwe suffered a hamstring strain that forced a late change ahead of their 23-19 win over the Sharks in Pretoria this past weekend.

Team doctor Org Strauss confirmed on Monday that the injury he suffered in training last week will keep him on the sidelines for at least another week.

The rest of the squad received a clean bill of health, Strauss said.

Dean Greyling (contusion calf, return on Wednesday), Deon Stegmann (SC joint sprain, Wednesday), Francois Hougaard (knee spasm, Tuesday), JJ Engelbrecht (ankle sprain, Tuesday) and Bjorn Basson (stomach ailment, Tuesday) will not train on Monday as they recover from light niggles.
