Bulls: Smit's big eye scare
Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw confirmed that the team suffered three injuries in what was a bitterly disappointing performance by he team from Pretoria.
"Roelof Smit gave us quite a scare when he suffered a laceration in the eye and had to undergo surgery,: Rossouw said in his weekly medical update on Monday.
"Luckily the results were positive and he will only miss one week," the doctor said of the match against the Sunwolves in Pretoria this coming Saturday.
He added that Smit should be available for the final league match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein next week.
"[Prop] Lizo Gqoboka left the field with a groin injury," he said of the other injury concerns.
"He went for a MRI scan and they are awaiting the results, but it is unlikely he will be available to face the Sunwolves.
"Burger Odendaal was removed from the field as a precautionary measure, following a heavy head knock.
"He is recovering well and it doesn't seem like he suffered concussion.
"He should start training tomorrow [Tuesday]," the doctor added.
